An Expression
This is not “just another” construction project.
Here I was able to experience the installation of an art form, An Expression. This piece is a local hot topic of conversation with in the community of Rochester Minnesota. To stand before the presence of it reveals a truth. The truth, all “art challenges the way you think”. (This quote is gently borrowed from another project currently in the works.)
Is this a singular expression from the artist to share with us? Or better yet, is this an evolutionary art form? I encourage you to stand the base of it, gently gaze at your reflection and see the surroundings revealed behind you. Embrace it with openness and let it translate what you see and feel to others.
This was a fun project to edit when combined with a little too much content. What to save, use, and toss were decisions made quickly on the fly. My favorite take aways from this piece was exposing the quick transition of sky revealed through sunsets and sunrises. And discovering the moon traveling ever so quickly over this sculpture. Adjusting the clip speed is critical in this process to showcase these beautiful moments.
Here are some project stats...
▪ 75 GB of recorded content
▪ 33 total clips
▪ 3 camera angles
▪ 7 days of recorded time
▪ 2 hours 25 minutes of footage to sift through
▪ 300+ photos to pick from
Using a specialized process, the original 720 footage was upsized to 4K for YouTube and 1080 for Facebook and Twitter. If you are interested you can check out the 4K three minute version on our blog at TimeLapseCameras.com.
Thank you to the Artist, Po Shu Wang of Berkeley, California,
Mayo Civic Center, installation crews and Rochester Post Bulletin for their willingness to let us volunteer our time to share and create this sculpture with the greater Rochester community.
