The Dandelion

What an honor, to be asked again.

This time the conversation started with an apology, “I’m sorry to hit you with such a nebulous concept…here is what we need…”

In the next 40 minutes phone conversation, I was grabbing at straws. The question on the table wasn’t, “How did you grow” during the pandemic. But rather, “what did you DO to grow, the tools, the process.”

For me, personally, coping through this time, meant to dive deeper into the aspects of photo and video learning. My social identity at TimeLapseCameras depended upon it.

A solo, photographer and tutorial video creator teaching the basics of a camera system. This was a walk in the par…sort.

For Third and Fourth Graders?
You bet!

HERE’S A FUN FACT:

Shot solo the wi-fi connection with my iphone tethered to my Sony made the process pretty slick!

The concept: a public end of school year release for the kids at Riverside Elementary.

Deadline: A week to film and a week to edit.

As the conversation continues on a singular entity that was achievable was the only thing i could grasp. The Dandelion. As something in our yards some people hate these weeds. Yet our children, pick them, present them as gifts and smile when they blow to spread these seeds.

With that friend, this video presents the basic elements of photography targeted for third and fourth graders to ignite and to see things from a different perspective.

Enjoy.
